Section IX. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
1. CONTESTED CLAIMS. If, upon analysis of the failed part(s), it is determined by AM General or component suppliers
that failure was not due to defective workmanship or material, the Government will be invoiced for the list price of the
part(s), labor borne by AM General in the repair, and related freight costs.
2. LABOR COSTS AND PARTS REPLACEMENT.
Charger for labor performed by the Government within the 50 states will be borne by AM General, based on the
a.
prevailing hourly rata in the particular geographical area and the number of hours appearing in AM General's flat rate
schedule or the Government's actual cost, whichever is less.
b.
For repairs performed by the Government outside the 50 states, the cost of labor will be borne by AM General,
at the prevailing hourly rate for such services and number of hours appearing in AM General's flat rate schedule or the
Government's actual cost, whichever is less.
c.
With respect to defective supplies, the warranty shall include replacement of the failed part in kind by AM
General without cost to the Government.
For repairs accomplished by the Government, a request for reimbursement will be accompanied by documenta-
d.
tion of the Government's actual labor cost (refer to Appendix B). The form shown in Appendix B can be locally repro-
duced. Documentation should include copies of the Work Order for the repair and substantiation of the Government hourly
rate. Reimbursement will be in the form of a check payable to the Treasurer of the United States, issued to the reporting
activity.
AM General has furnished a flat rate time schedule for the vehicle under contract, for the purpose of providing
e.
a basis for reimbursement of Government labor costs. The schedule specifies total number of labor hours allowable for
major repair time, and test time, where applicable.
