6 . NULLIFICATION . T h e p r o v i s i o n s o f t h e w a r r a n t i e s , c o v e r e d by this
p u b l i c a t i o n , s h a l l n o t a p p l y t o a n y w a r r a n t e d i t e m i f f a i l u r e has been caused
by:
Improper installation or maintenance.
a.
b . Operation contrary to the TMs (or other written instructions provided
to and approved by the Government) in such a way as to induce a failure.
c . R e p a i r or alteration by the Government in such a way as to Induce a
failure.
Misuse, neglect, or accident.
d.
Combat damage.
e.
Foreign object damage.
f.
Test program damage.
g.
h . Failure caused by acts of God, the public enemy, subversion, riots,
vandalism, sabotage, flood or similar causes, fire or explosion induced by or
originating from sources external to the warranted item(s).
CLAIM PROCEDURES.
Identification of warranted items.
a.
(1) Warranted primary aircraft components delivered on warranted
a i r c r a f t will be identified on DA Form 2408-15 AMSAV-Q Overprint 2 (Figure 3).
When a warranted aircraft component is replaced, write the serial number of
the newly installed component in the serial number block of the DA Form
2 4 0 8 - 1 5 C a r d n e x t t o t h e a f f e c t e d p a r t n u m b e r . A i r c r a f t warranted components
can be laterally transferred from one warranted aircraft to another warranted
aircraft without loss of coverage.
(2) Warranted primary components for end items (e.g., engine, APU,
etc.) are identified by an affixed decal (Figure 1) stating that the item is
w a r r a n t e d a n d i n d i c a t i n g t h e e x p i r a t i o n d a t e . A DA Form 2408-15 AMSAV-Q
overprint 2 (Warranty Identification Card (WIC)) (Figure 3) accompanies each
primary component and is retained in the Aircraft Historical Record Logbook
