2. When you (the Government) desire to make repairs take the following actions.
Under the provisions of Section I, Paragraph 3b. contact AM General Corporation via the telephone,

Prepare a Memorandum for Record (MFR) of your telephone conversation with AM General to Include the date. time and
the name of the AM General representative contacted.
AM General will make every effort to provide telephonic instructions to you immediately, however, for those

exceptions which cannot be handled immediately, AM General will provide telephone instructions to you within five
working days. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE REPAIRS. WAIT FOR INSTRUCTIONS FROM AM GENERAL.
If you agree with the recommendation. proceed with AM General's instructions. Prepare a DA Form 2407
c.
and a Request for Reimbursement (see Annex B), in accordance with TM 38-750. after work is completed and forward a
duplicate copy to

If you disagree with AM General's recommendation or if a dispute arises, prepare and forward a DA Form 2407

in accordance with TM 38-750 to addresses listed in Section IV. Paragraph If.

For each item obtained from AM General, follow the actions stated in Section IV. Paragraph le to establish
appropriate demand history on the items.

I" making your own repairs, you may be required to return the defective part(s) to AM General per their (instruc-
tions. If so, drain" the defective part(s). if applicable, and tag with DA Form 2402. in accordance with TM 38-750. Clean,
wrap and securely package the part(s) to prevent further damage. This is important since AM General will examine the
returned part(s) to determine if there is a warranted defect Return the part(s) with a duplicate copy of the prepared DA

AM General will bear the transportation cost of shipping the defective part(s) within CONUS. All shipments will be via
surface freight. It is equally important that the defective part(s) be adequately protected while awaiting disposition
instructions For example. do not leave an engine in the open, exposed to weather. Inadequate protection can jeopardize
the Government's warranty claim. Placing an engine on boards and covering it with canvas could provide simple but needed
protection so that AM General can readily inspect it to validate the claim. Do not dispose of the defective part(s) unless
specifically instructed to do so by AM General or TARCOM. DO NOT RETURN THE DEFECTIVE PART(S) TO AM
GENERAL UNLESSSPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY AM GENERAL.
Section V. WARRANTY CLAIM IMPLEMENTATION (OCONUS)
The Government has the same options of electing to do warranty repairs or to have AM General do the repairs at OCONUS
locations where AM General has established dealer facilities and FSR representation.
1. If there is AM General dealer representation at your location and you desire that they make the repairs. take the
following actions:
a.

US Army Logistics Assistance Office for you headquarters. State the nature of the problem and, if known. the name
and location of the dealer closest to you. Should the Field Service Representative not be immediately available and a
